Listening for owls,
the last ones in the forest,
as blue as tree trunks.

That yellow presence,
the calm that centers it all—
that truth in the room.

Hear wind over grass—
carry seeds to the blue field,
let your hand let go.

Winter stars gather
in the late October sky—
